Filled with unexpected contrasts and design solutions, this loft apartment is in one of Madrid’s most vibrant Barrios and the city centre for art and culture. EMCI studio had to undertake a whole structural reform of the apartment, turning its enclosed rooms into dynamic open spaces and making a feature of its exposed brick walls and wooden pillars.

The scheme chosen for the interiors is one to reflect the area where the loft is situated, and is an elegant collage of bespoke elements, vintage pieces and the owners’ existing collection. Working by the idea that “more is more”, the studio managed to create a curated yet intimate space and gave new life to the space while preserving and respecting its identity.
